Dressed to ‘Suite’ November 2013 – Alexander Julian, the sartorial visionary behind the fashion-inspired collection for Jonathan Charles, whips up a new collection for Fall 2013, on display at Fall High Point Market. With subtle undertones alluding to his Scottish heritage, the new collection is a celebration of Julian’s love for textiles – houndstooth, pinstripes, tartan plaid – and pop art, translated into tongue-in-cheek, referential home furnishings that redefine ‘haute couture’.
Five different wood species with five distinct natural grains provide Award winning textile and furniture designer Alexander Julian with his “palette” to create an original interpretation of a classic McLeod Tartan. The small-space friendly dimensions allow for a sartorial touch in any room.
These hand inlaid tartan tray tables literally “serve” their owners with true panache. Perfect for entertaining, these Butler Tables infuse sharp style into living rooms, bedrooms, dressing rooms, and studys.

Fun meets function with this hand inlaid, super-sized button coffee table with custom cast sewing needle legs - the perfect bold accessory for true fashion devotees - lovers of design and crafstmanship.
This classic Scottish tartan front is hand inlaid utilizing different wood species to “weave” the timeless pattern. The Bugatti inspired interior features drawers of many wood species and custom cast “bowtie” and “button” hardware.
Inspired by a runway look from his womenswear collection circa 1983, Julian combines a hand inlaid houndstooth chest with a hand inlaid striped cabinet top for a loosely matching look (the stripes resemble the houndstooth fabric pre-warp).
